The Miami International Airport (MIA) works closely with the relevant federal agencies to ensure that travelers, workers, and the general community have safe and efficient services, and that protocols are strictly followed in accordance with the standards set by the Control Center. If you are planning to use MIA soon, please take into account:
COVID Restrictions
If you are not a citizen or permanent resident of the United States and wish to visit the country with a non-immigrant visa, you must demonstrate that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before arriving in the United States.
However, since June 2022, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) no longer require air travelers coming from other countries to undergo a COVID-19 viral test or present a COVID-19 recovery certificate before boarding their flight.
There are some exceptions for certain non-citizens and non-immigrants regarding this vaccination requirement. If you meet the criteria for any of these exceptions, you will need to comply with additional requirements to travel to the United States.
It is important to note that the vaccine administered must be approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or included in the World Health Organization’s (WHO) emergency use list. Mixed vaccination schemes are also accepted.
The vaccination requirement does not apply to U.S. residents, legal citizens, or permanent residents.
At this time, it is no longer required to wear a mask in indoor areas of public transportation, including trains, buses, airplanes, or other forms of public transport.
